There's no way to turn it off. That wouldn't be a problem for a wired speedometer, or if you *never* take it off the bike. But when not on the bike, this wireless version will think it's moving at an arbitrary speed between .1 and 80 mph when the little nodes are (a) touched by skin, (b) near a magnet, or (c) within a foot of a computer. If any of those things happen, any trip meter or odometer readings are then wrong.
I really liked this computer after initial installation. Was easy to set up and easy to use. After replacing the battery in the sensor computer performance has been very erratic. MPH is all over the map and mileage continues to accumulate after stopping
set up in 5 mins before ride. Easy to read all functions. Accurate to friends wired computer and my GPS program. Very happy with it.
